Internet Download Manager (IDM) is configured to automatically check the latest available updates in the background and if the latest version is available, it starts showing the update prompt. I will show you how to turn off the automatic update check of IDM permanently by tweaking Registry value LstCheck.
It’s annoying when the prompt appears in the middle of important work and you have to close it without having any other option. However, as most folks use trial or pirated versions, it starts showing update prompt after the interval of a few days. If you are using a genuine version, you are good to go with updates.
